How Did Former RMU Transfers Perform with Their New Players This Season?
Winning usually prevents a roster turnover but surprisingly that wasn’t the case last season for the Robert Morris men’s basketball team.
Despite winning 26 games, which was a program high, and qualifying for the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament, HC Andy Toole was forced to rebuild his roster last off-season after 9 players entered the transfer portal.
Unfortunately, with the NCAA transfer portal and the lure of money thru NIL, this is something that’s going to become common for many college programs.
Luckily for RMU, Toole is not only an outstanding head coach, but he’s also been through this before during his 16-year tenure as the Colonials head coach. Because of that along with support from the Robert Morris NIL donors, Toole was able to rebuild this team, which has a chance to make a return trip to the NCAA tournament.
So, how did the players that transferred last season fare this season with their new teams?
Here’s a look at the key contributors and their statistics this season, compared to what they did with RMU in 2024-25.
Taking into account these transfers were mostly about the money, but statistically, only one player improved in terms of their play on the court.
