Robert Morris Nears Roster Limit After Commitment From Hyper-Athletic Forward
It has been an eventful week for Robert Morris and Coach Andy Toole. Incoming transfers and freshman are officially signing with the program and the coaching staff is still working on and securing commitments from other recruits.
In addition to the 6-foot-11 international center that committed on Monday, Robert Morris received another commitment to start off the week as Bella Vista Prep (AZ) forward Bolaji Oderinlo announced his commitment via his Instagram on Monday night.
The 6-foot-7 Oderinlo spent this past season at Bella Vista Prep and also played for EBYL Vegas Elite, a premier AAU team which matched him up against players on the circuit such as five-star Kansas commit Tyran Stokes.
During his time with Vegas Elite, Oderinlo stood out due to his willingness to attack ball handlers and loose balls, his ability to crash the boards and his all-around effort.
Oderinlo was also described as a “live body athlete” by one member of the Robert Morris basketball program following his commitment.
Due to playing at Bella Vista Prep, a program that is the home to multiple different teams, Oderinlo’s stats from this past season are hard to come across but he stood out while playing at the Elite Interscholastic Basketball Conference last March.
He averaged 8.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2 blocks per game as he blended his athleticism with his ability to be a spot-up three-point shooter from the corners.
Oderinlo joins a frontcourt that features returner Samuel Obenjo, Merrimack transfer KC Ugwuakazi and international signee Daniil Stolbetskiy. His commitment pushed the scholarship count to 12 which likely leaves just one more addition this offseason with that likely being a high school wing player due to the depth at that spot on the roster.
