RMU Forward Nikolaos Chitikoudis Receives Conference Honor
HC Andy Toole was forced to rebuild the Robert Morris roster after 9 players transferred following last season’s NCAA tournament appearance.
For some coaches that could’ve been a problem but not for Toole and his coaching staff.
One of his biggest additions was 6’9″ forward Nikolaos Chitkoudis, who came from North Carolina A&T, who’s been one of the biggest reasons for RMU’s 21-win regular season.
This afternoon, Chitkoudis was named the Horizon League Player of the Week, the first time he’s received this honor. Last week, Chitkoudis averaged 15.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in wins over Detroit Mercy and Cleveland State. On Saturday, he collected 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists, which helped RMU lock up the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Horizon League Tournament.

Chitkoudis top performance this season came against Oakland, when he registered 20 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. In the month of February, he’s averaged 13.9 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
On Wednesday, Robert Morris will host No. 9 seed Youngstown State (15-16, 8-12) in the 1st round of the Horizon League postseason tournament. The winner will advance to the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis for the remainder of the Horizon League Men’s Basketball Tournament.
