Robert Morris WBB Signs Hawai’i Transfer Guard
The Robert Morris women’s basketball roster is quickly filling out as head coach Chandler McCabe and her staff signed two more players over the weekend, ahead of this week’s recruiting shutdown.
Hawai’i freshman transfer guard Ella Collins was the first of the two new signees to be announced via the Colonials’ official X account.
Collins is a 5-foot-8 guard that originally hails from Canberra, Australia. Prior to her move to the United States to play basketball, Collins was a mainstay in Australia’s NBL as she played for Canberra in 2024 and Illawarra in 2025.
She averaged 10.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for Australian Capital Territory over six games in the U20 National Championships in February of 2024.
Collins then moved to the states for college and spent this past season as part of the Hawai’i Rainbow Wahine. She appeared in just 12 games as a freshman last season and scored a combined 12 points as she played just 3.5 minutes per appearance.
Collins is set to join a deep, yet largely inexperienced group of guards at Robert Morris which will give her the chance to develope her game while competing for minutes.
Some of the players that Collins will compete with for a role next season include a pair of returners in Mallory Daly and London Creach, and incomers such as Meghan Murray, Mackenzie Blackford, Page Greenburg and freshman Teigh Yeast and Layla Hale.
Despite the group’s lack of experience aside from Blackford, McCabe now has a plethora of guards that can and likely will contribute to the team’s success next season.
