While much of the recent recruiting news was centered around the men’s and women’s basketball programs, the Robert Morris football team has gotten in on the fun over the last week.

Head coach Bernard Clark Jr. and his staff have dished out a handful of offers over the last couple of days as they continue to try to build Robert Morris into an FCS powerhouse.

Getting high-level players to come to Moon Township may not be the easiest task in the football world, but luckily for Clark and the rest of the program, they have a hotbed of football talent in their own backyard as the WPIAL continuously pumps out high-caliber players.

After signing the most WPIAL players out of any program in its most recent recruiting class, Robert Morris is dipping back into the local waters as they continue to reload the roster.

Now, as unlikely as it is that they land all of the kids that they offered, trying stockpile WPIAL players is never a bad thing especially for a program like Robert Morris.

Starting last week, Colonials’ defensive coordinator Jason Makrinos extended an offer to Washington High School Class of 2026 standout Tristan Reed.

The offer came after Makrinos watched Reed run a 40-yard dash in which he ran a 4.50 flat. With Reed’s speed and ability to play both wide receiver and defensive back, Makrinos wasted no time in becoming Reed’s first Division-I offer.

Then, on Tuesday, the staff extended offers to Will Martin and Aaron Loritts, who are both coming off of strong junior seasons at Seton LaSalle.

Martin, a tight end and outside linebacker for the Rebels, currently holds offers from Toledo, Akron, Kent State, and Eastern Michigan.

Loritts, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound edge rusher, currently holds offers from Toledo, Akron, Norfolk State and Monmouth.

Lastly, on Wednesday, the Colonials’ staff offered former Central Valley running back Jance Henry Jr. a scholarship. Following a move out of state, Henry enrolled at Archbishop Hoban which is located in Akron, Ohio.

Rivals rated Henry as a three-star running back and he currently holds 18 Division-I offers.

As evident by the recent offers, there is a plethora of local talent around the city and Robert Morris is trying to make its best pitch for them to become Colonials in the near future.
