After dishing out offers to a handful of local high school recruits last week, the football staff at Robert Morris continued its tour of the WPIAL as another batch of offers were handed out this week.

Head coach Bernard Clark Jr. and his staff have identified the hotbed of football talent in its own backyard and are continuing to use it. After a successful first season back in the NEC that featured many former WPIAL players, Robert Morris signed the most WPIAL recruits out of any Division-I program in the country in its most recent recruiting class.

As evident by the recent offers, there is a plethora of local talent around the city and Robert Morris is trying to make its best pitch for them to become Colonials in the near future.

The first of three offers that the Colonials’ staff extended on Tuesday was to Bethel Park offensive lineman Santino LaMolinare.

LaMolinare is about to head into his senior season at Bethel Park but already has a solid frame as he stands at 6-foot-3, 275-pounds. In addition, LaMolinare blocked for Robert Morris signee JaVaughn Moore over the last few seasons where he helped Moore rush for over 2,000 yards and 32 touchdowns as a senior.

LaMolinare currently holds offers from Robert Morris, Towson, New Hampshire, Richmond, Stony Brook, Albany, Lafayette and Bucknell.

The second offer that the staff handed out on Tuesday was to Montour standout Caden Halajcio.

Halajcio previously held an offer from the Colonials but running backs coach Nick Dalton re-offered him this week.

While Halajcio plays a multitude of positions for Montour including linebacker and safety, his future is as a running back. As a junior this past season, Halajcio totaled 1,011 rushing yards and five touchdowns on just 184 carries.

The Colonials’ staff capped the day off by extending an offer to Mt. Lebanon offensive/defenive lineman Jackson Kraemer.

While Robert Morris offered, they were not the only program to do so as Kraemer’s recruitment exploded over the last week with offers from Albany, Clarion and Wheeling all coming over the last couple of days.

Since offensive coordinator Troy Rothenbuhler was the one to extend the offer, it is likely that the Robert Morris staff sees Kraemer as an offensive lineman but with his frame, 6-foot-3, 255-pounds, he could realistically slot in on either side of the ball in the future.

The last offer of the week that the Colonials’ staff extended was to Pittsburgh Central Catholic defensive lineman Angelo Pugliano.

Pugliano helped lead Central to the WPIAL Class-6A title and eventually to the state championship game as he played at a First-Team All-State level. He plays all over the defensive line for Central as he was featured on the inside and on the outside of the line a season ago and projects as a hybrid-type of defensive lineman for the future.
