RMU Softball Wins Seventh Game in a Row

Their winning streak is up to 7 as the Robert Morris softball team completed their weekend sweep of Green Bay with a 4-3 extra-innings win.
For the second game in a row, freshman Mary Brant was the star for the Colonials. A day after collecting 2 homeruns and 5 RBIs, Brant came through with the game-winning RBI double in the 8th inning to secure the win.
Other run producers and offensive standouts for RMU included Courtney Poulich (RBI Double), Jess Matheny (RBI Single) and Anna Resnick (2B, 2 runs scored).
Congratulations to Madison DeVault, who had an outstanding afternoon on the mound. DeVault struck out two batters in each of the first four innings and kept Green Bay hitless through five innings. She finished the game pitching 5 innings, 0 hits, 0 runs and 9 strikeouts.
Once RMU took the 4-3 lead in the 8th inning, Madelyn Coleman came on to protect the 4-3 and she did just that as she pitched a scoreless inning, ending the game with a strikeout.
Robert Morris improves to 5-1 in Horizon League Play and 11-9 overall.
Next up for Robert Morris is a non-conference match on Tuesday as they travel to Kent State.
