The Robert Morris softball program earned a spot in the NCAA Softball Tournament on Saturday by winning the Horizon Tournament.

Sunday night, NCAA released the softball tournament bracket, and the Colonials found out their opponent.

Robert Morris (30-16) will take on #5 ranked Florida State in the opening round of the double-elimination tournament on Friday at 2:30 PM.

The game will take place in Tallahassee, Florida and will be televise on the ACC Network.

The other first-round matchup in the Tallahassee Regional is South Florida against Auburn. The winners of Friday’s games will advance to the winner’s bracket game on Saturday, while the losers will face off in an elimination game, also on Saturday. The Regional concludes with the championship final on Sunday, May 18.

The appearance in the NCAA Tournament is the 4th in program history for RMU and the first since 2005. Their other team trips were in 1994 and 1998.
