Robert Morris Softball Pitcher Earns Horizon League Pitcher of the Week Honors

The success within the Robert Morris athletic department is running rampart recently. The latest success story is the university’s softball team and more specifically senior pitcher Madison DeVault.
DeVault earned the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week award after two strong showings against Green Bay this week. In the first outing, DeVault pitched a 13-strikeout, complete game against the Phoenix in the series opener and then came back in the series finale and went five no-hit innings while striking out nine more batters.
In total, DeVault tallied up 22 strikeouts while posting an impressive 0.58 ERA over her two starts against the Phoenix.
Career-high 13 strikeouts and five no-hit innings. Yeah, you could say Maddie had a good week🔥

DeVault is in her fourth season at Robert Morris where she chose to extend her softball and academic career following her graduation from Dover High School which is located in Dover, Ohio.
DeVault is the fourth Colonial player and second pitcher to earn Horizon League weekly honors this season. Madelyn Coleman, Courtney Poulich and Anna Resnik all earned weekly league honors this season.
The Colonials have enjoyed success behind those efforts this season as the team’s record just jumped to 12-9 overall with their 12-4 win over Kent State on Tuesday. The beatdown of the Golden Flash on Tuesday marked the Colonials’ eight-straight win.
Not only are the Colonials surging over the past handful of games, they are excelling in conference play with 5-1 in-league record. The Colonials return to league play on Friday afternoon when they head to Indianapolis to take on IU Indy in a doubleheader.
Then, after one game against crosstown foe Pitt on April 1, Robert Morris really sees their conference schedule ramp up as they play four-straight series against Horizon League foes.
