Robert Morris Softball Sets Program Record, Sweeps Mercyhurst in Doubleheader

The winning ways continued for the Robert Morris softball team in Tuesday as the Colonials swept Mercyhurst in a midweek non-conference doubleheader to wrap up their home schedule for the season.
In the process, the Colonials broke a program record as they stole a single-game record nine bases in the second game of the doubleheader. With the back-to-back wins, the Colonials sit firmly in second-place of the Horizon League as they own an overall record of 24-14 and a league record of 14-6.
Robert Morris already clinched a spot in the six-team field of the Horizon League Championships but with seven games left to be played, they can still take the league’s regular season title with a strong finish of the season.
Here’s a recap of the Colonials latest wins along with some postgame comments from Robert Morris head coach Jexx Varner.
