The Robert Morris football roster is nearly locked and loaded for the upcoming season as the program has added a handful of transfers over the course of the last two weeks.

After shoring up the secondary last week after landing a transfer safety, the staff wanted to add more talent and depth at a variety of other positional groups and did just that as the Colonials’ added four more players over the weekend.

Eastern Michigan running back/wide receiver Owen McGraw, Ball State wide receiver RJ Mukes III, King’s College (JUCO) defensive end Osman Kamara and Peru State College (JUCO) tight end Richard Ransom all committed to Robert Morris over the weekend.

The positional group that got the most reinforcements from the recent wave of transfer was the wide receivers. While Mukes joins fellow ex-Ball State player Elijah Davis, who committed to Robert Morris last week, the Colonials’ also added a talented playmaker in McGraw, who has the ability to play at both running back and receiver.

Owen McGraw failed to see the field while at Eastern Michigan but starred as an all-purpose type of player when he was in high school as he racked up 2,005 all-purpose yards and 22 touchdowns.

As stated before, RJ Mukes III followed a former Ball State teammate to Robert Morris and will also compete for playing time at receiver.

Mukes saw limited action in his second collegiate season and made his FBS debut in the team’s final game of the year but did not record any official stats. As a senior in high school, the 5-foot-9 playmaker tallied 70 receptions, 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The final offensive player to be added to the roster over the weekend was JUCO tight end transfer Richard Ransom. Ransom’s 6-foot-5, 235-pound frame attracted college coaches to him when he was in high school as he had reported offers from Youngstown State and Toledo.

Ransom ended up taking the JUCO route and started his collegiate career at Coffeyville Community College as a linebacker. After totaling 13 tackles and one for a loss as a true freshman, Ransom started playing on the offensive side of the ball. In his second season at Coffeyville, Ransom hauled in 13 receptions for 145 yards while also making one tackle on defense.

Ransom transferred to Peru State College prior to last season where he played as a hybrid wide receiver/ tight end.

The sole defensive addition of the weekend was King’s College defensive end Osman Kamara, who is coming off of a breakout season at the JUCO level.

Kamara only saw the field in one game as a true freshman but took over as a pivotal player last season as he totaled 63 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss and 9.5 sacks. Following the season, Kamara earned to the All-MAC First-Team and D3football.com All-Region 1 Second-Team honors.

With all of the new additions, the Colonials have reloaded its depth at a multitude of positions. While there may still be a few more portal additions to come, the Colonials roster is quickly filling up as the summer rolls on.

It is unknown which of the portal players will make an immediate impact, if any, but regardless, the more talent that is on the roster, the better for a program like Robert Morris.
