The Horizon League announced a change in venue for its second rounds, semifinals and championships for both the men’s and women’s basketball championships starting next season. Following a round of campus hosted first round games, the new site of the league’s neutral site tournament games will be at The Arena at Innovation Mile (AIM) in the town of Noblesville, Indiana.

The league’s deal with the City of Noblesville, Hamilton County Sports Authority and REV Entertainment to host the future Horizon League basketball championships runs through the 2031 season, meaning that AIM will host at least the next five league championships.

The change comes after the Horizon League hosted its neutral site tournament games at the Corteva Coliseum in Indianapolis for each of the last seven seasons.

The Horizon League Council decided on The Arena at Innovation Mile due to a handful of reasons, but mainly for the reason of moving their league championships to a modern site as AIM was recently opened in 2025 and is the home of the Noblesville Boom, the NBA G-League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers.

The Arena at Innovation Mile is described as a state-of-the-art multipurpose venue that was constructed to host the “highest level of basketball and events.” AIM can seat approximately 3,400 spectators with the ability to add additionally seating if needed.

“There were a number of venues interested in hosting our future basketball championships,” Robert Morris Vice President and Director of Athletics and Horizon League Men’s Basketball Administrative Liaison Chris King said. “The Arena at Innovation Mile rose to the top of our list for the incredible experiences we could provide our student-athletes inside the brand-new facility and for our fans both in the arena and in the Noblesville community.”

The league also stated that the move further reinforces the goal of creating a “long-term community event that engages, inspires, and connects the greater central Indiana community” as the Historic Noblesville Square features a walkable downtown that houses a series of local restaurants, bars and the Hamilton Town Center which is a space that is littered with shops and entertainment venues.

When both the Robert Morris men’s and women’s basketball teams tip off the 2026-27 season, the goal will no longer be to make the trip to Indy, but rather it will be to make the trip to Noblesville.
