Robert Morris head coach Chandler McCabe has spoken at length about how important it is to be able to recruit the local talent in and around the city of Pittsburgh and her efforts in doing so are paying off in a big way.

Just in this recruiting cycle alone, McCabe received commitments from three transfer portal players with Pittsburgh ties as Aislin Malcolm (Pitt/Chartiers Valley), Bailey Kuhns (Mercyhurst/Greensburg Central Catholic) and Ava Leroux (Elon/South Fayette) all have chosen the Colonials as their next team.

On top of the three transfers, McCabe signed five incoming freshman to the program in November which included two more hometown standouts in Oakland Catholic’s London Creach and Kennedy Catholic’s Layke Fields.

Even with all five of those players committing to Robert Morris, McCabe was not done trying to lure local talent back home as her and the staff secured a commitment from another local recruit on Friday.
