Robert Morris MBB Will Play Against Defending NEC Champions in 2025
We have hit the point in the college basketball offseason where programs are starting to release their non-conference, and even in some cases, their entire 2025-26 schedules.
While Robert Morris has yet to release their non-conference slate, some games are revealing themselves through the opponents schedule releases. With the Horizon League schedule being a 20-game slate, that leaves 11 open slots for non-conference games.
The most recent matchup to be revealed includes a program that Robert Morris is very accustomed to playing as the two clubs used to be Northeast Conference rivals.
According to the Saint Francis men’s basketball X account, the Colonials will travel to about 100 miles east to Loretto, Pennsylvania to take on the Red Flash on Saturday, December 20, 2025.

While the two teams did not meet last season, there is a storied history between the two programs as they have met a total of 93 times on the hardwood. Robert Morris owns a 55-38 all-time record against Saint Francis.
The Colonials and Red Flash have played a total of four times since Robert Morris departed the NEC for the Horizon League.
With the two programs in difference conferences, it allowed for both to punch their tickets to March Madness a season ago, albeit they both dropped out of the tournament with opening-round losses.
Saint Francis owned a 16-18 overall record and an 8-8 in-league record last year. Despite that, the Red Flash went on a magical run to win the NEC Tournament which advanced them to the First Four Round of the NCAA Tournament where they ultimately fell to Alabama State in dramatic fashion.
The Colonials will first head to Iowa City to tipoff their season against the Hawkeyes on Nov. 20, 2025, but it comes with a twist as they will play against last season’s Horizon League Player of the Year and former Robert Morris star, Alvaro Folgueiras.
Later in November, the Colonials will hit the road again to take on St. Bonaventure at the Reilly Center on the 20th of the month.
The last known non-conference opponent on the Colonials’ schedule so far is Toledo, who will travel to Moon Township on Dec. 13, 2025, to start a home-and-home series against Robert Morris. The Colonials will head to Glass City in 2026 for the return game.
Robert Morris played a total of 11 non-conference games a season ago which means there are still seven more games, outside of the Horizon League schedule, set to be released at some point leading up to the season.
