Robert Morris Men’s Basketball Non-Conference Schedule Update

The Robert Morris men’s basketball program unveiled its 2026-27 Horizon League schedule on Thursday, but there is still at least one unknown non-conference game at this point of the offseason which has delayed the full finalized schedule from being released.

As of right now, on top of the Colonials’ 20-game league schedule, the confirmed and/or rumored non-conference matchups that Andy Toole’s team will play this upcoming season are at Nevada (November 2nd), at Illinois-Chicago (November 6th), at Toledo (November 19th), versus Duquesne (December 9th at PPG Paints Arena) and versus Monmouth (TBD).

The Horizon League schedule plus the five games already known or reported on put the Colonials at a 25-game schedule with the potential of six more open slots.

Over the last couple of weeks, other outlets and opposing teams have leaked five more non-conference games for the Colonials.

The tournament’s official website confirmed that Robert Morris will participate in the 2026 Scout Jacksonville Classic, November 22-25. While the Colonials’ two opponents in the tournament have yet to be revealed, the rest of the field includes Illinois-Chicago, Lamar, Miami (OH), New Mexico State, Ohio and Rice.

With UIC already being a confirmed opponent earlier in the non-conference schedule, the Colonials will not play them in the multi-team event in Jacksonville.

Another confirmed non-conference foe that Robert Morris will face off against is a team that the Colonials have not played against since 1996. The Colonials will welcome Vermont, last year’s America East runners-up, into the UPMC Events Center on December 20th.

The other confirmed non-conference matchup for Robert Morris this season will be against a familiar coach to not only Robert Morris, but all Pittsburgh-based college basketball fans. John Calipari’s Arkansas team will host Toole and the Colonials on November 10th, according to Matt Jones of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.

November’s matchup against the Razorbacks will mark the fourth all-time meeting between Toole and Calipari with the blue-blood head coach holding a 2-1 record over the Colonials. The one loss came when Robert Morris stunned the Calipari-led Kentucky Wildcats in the opening round of the 2013 National Invitation Tournament (NIT).

The latest rumored non-conference game on the Colonials’ schedule is a home game against Division-III Capital (OH) on November 15th, according to a RPI Update.

All of this leaves Robert Morris with one more potential non-conference game for the 2026-27 season. Assuming that game is in the process of being finalized, the Colonials’ official schedule announcement should come in the next couple of days or weeks.
