Robert Morris MBB to Participate in Pittsburgh Based Multi-Team Event in 2025

Robert Morris and the UPMC Events Center have played host to the Urban-Bennett Invitational (MTE) over the last two seasons but as of right now, a third installment of the multi-team event has not been confirmed.
Despite the uncertainty of the UBI’s future, the Colonials are still scheduled to participate in a Pittsburgh based MTE in late November.
According to the Southern Utah men’s basketball X account, the Colonials will take on the Thunderbirds on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, in the multi-team event that also includes Stetson.
While Southern Utah is confirmed to play Robert Morris on Nov. 28 and Stetson on Nov. 29, there is not a confirmed date for Robert Morris’ matchup against Stetson as of yet.

Robert Morris’s history with Southern Utah and Stetson on the basketball court is not very extensive at all.
In fact, the Colonials have yet to play against Southern Utah while the lone matchup against Stetson happened during the 2018-19 season. Robert Morris defeated Stetson by the score of 81-72 in that game.
Both Southern Utah and Stetson experienced rough year, to say the least, last season as the two programs combined for just 2o wins. In comparison, Robert Morris won 26 games in last year’s Horizon League championship-winning season.
The Thunderbirds of Southern Utah play in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and finished in eighth-place of the conference a year ago as they went 12-19 overall and 4-12 in conference play.
The Stetson Hatters also struggled last season as they came in ninth-place of the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) with an overall record of 8-24 and a 6-12 league record.
With the confirmation of games against both Southern Utah and Stetson, it brings the known non-conference game total to seven which means there is still four more to be revealed at some point prior to the season.
The Colonials will first head to Iowa City to tipoff their season against the Hawkeyes on Nov. 4, 2025, but it comes with a twist as they will play against last season’s Horizon League Player of the Year and former Robert Morris star, Alvaro Folgueiras.
Robert Morris will then stay in the state of Iowa as they make a pitstop in Des Moines, Iowa, just two days later for a battle with Drake, who were the champions of the Missouri Valley Conference last season.
Later in November, the Colonials will hit the road again to take on St. Bonaventure at the Reilly Center on the 20th of the month.
Then in December the Colonials’ will host Toledo, who will travel to Moon Township on Dec. 13, 2025, to start a home-and-home series against Robert Morris. The Colonials will head to Glass City in 2026 for the return game.
A week later, the Colonials will travel to in-state for and former NEC rival Saint Francis on Dec. 20, 2025, to continue their in-state rivalry.
