Robert Morris Women’s Lacrosse Clinches Share of MAC Regular Season Title

The Robert Morris women’s lacrosse team maintained its spot atop of the Mid-American Conference standings despite its 14-12 loss to Akron in the team’s regular season finale on Sunday.
Even with the loss to the Zips, the Colonials clinched a share of the MAC regular-season championship as they finished with an overall record of 7-10 overall but own a 4-2 conference record which is tied with two other programs for the best conference record on league play.
Despite both Akron and Eastern Michigan finishing with identical conference records as Robert Morris, the Colonials claimed the top-seed and will host the MAC Women’s Lacrosse Championships that start on Thursday, May 1.
It will be the second time in program history that Robert Morris hosts the championships at Joe Walton Stadium.

The top-seeded Colonials kick the tournament off when they host No. 4-seed Detroit Mercy at 1 p.m. on Thursday. The Colonials defeated the Titans one the road just two weeks ago by the score of 19-11. If the Colonials manage to take the Titans down again, they will move onto the MAC Championship game that is scheduled to take place on Saturday.
No. 2-seeded Eastern Michigan will play No. 3-seeded Akron on the other side of the bracket with the winner moving onto the MAC Championship game.
Robert Morris is in familiar territory as they won the MAC title outright after the 2021 regular season and since then the Colonials have lost to Central Michigan twice in the championship game. This is the fifth-straight MAC Tournament appearance for Robert Morris.
