Robert Morris Transfer Forward Commits to ACC Program
Robert Morris has now watched as its Horizon League Player of the Year recepient leave for a high-major program for a second-straight offseason.
DeSean Goode was one of the first Colonials to enter the portal following the season’s conclusion and now has a new home as he committed to Miami on Sunday, he announced to social media.
Goode transferred to Robert Morris prior to this past season after spending his first year of college at IU Indy, a Horizon League foe of the Colonials.
Goode parlayed a All-Horizon Freshman Team season into a All-Horizon First Team and Player of the Year sophomore season under Andy Toole as he averaged 15.2 points and 8.7 rebounds while shooting 63% from the field and 57% from three.
In his Player of the Year campaign, Goode led Robert Morris and the Horizon League in double-doubles as he posted 12 during his lone season with the Colonials.
Goode displayed a power-conference level of play this season at Robert Morris as he was an automatic bucket from inside of the pain, shot the three at a high level despite a smaller volume and dribbled well for a 6-foot-8, 230-pound forward.
Despite his success as a frontcourt player this season, Goode will likely play more of a wing role at Miami due to his size compared to other power-conference forwards so all three areas of his game that he excelled at during his time with the Colonials should translate well in the ACC despite a potential role change.
Goode joins fellow ex-Robert Morris star Ryan Prather Jr. as players to transfer to power-conference programs this offseason.
In total over the last two years, Andy Toole and Robert Morris have seen five players make the jump from the mid-major level to high-major level of college basketball.
