While the transfer portal rages on, Robert Morris head coach Andy Toole and his staff are exploring every possible avenue in regard to making additions to next year’s roster.

Just like last offseason when Toole received a late high school commitment from Samuel Obenjo, the Colonials made another non-portal addition this offseason. The main difference is the newest member of the team is coming off of a post-grad year.

6-foot-3 guard Lukas Sloane out of IMG Academy announced his commitment to Robert Morris from his Instagram account on Saturday evening.

Sloane is originally from Howell, New Jersey and played his high school basketball at Colts Neck. He led Colts Neck to a state championship as a senior. During his senior season, Sloane averaged 16.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per game and was named First Team All-Conference.

Sloane decided to take a post-grad opportunity at IMG Academy in Florida this past season to further his development and attract more Division-I interest which he successfully did as it caught the eyes of Toole who extended an offer to the lefty shooter last week.

Sloane joins guard Josh Jackson out of Houston County High School (GA) as the two members of the Colonials’ 2026 high school recruiting class.

With a deep guard rotation already in place for next season with Darius Livingston and Ta’Zir Smith returning, coupled with transfer guard Ace Valentine coming next season, playing time might be hard to come by for Sloane as a freshman though it will give him time to learn and adjust to the Division-I level.
