Robert Morris Basketball Sees Second Player Enter Transfer Portal

MOON TWP, Pa. — A few hours after the news broke of star forward Amarion Dickerson entering the transfer portal, the Robert Morris men’s basketball program experienced its second departure of the offseason as guard Justice Williams entered the transfer portal, according to his agent Daniel Poneman.
While Williams was a key piece that returned to the Colonials roster this past season, he was seen using crutches throughout the team’s preseason events and never got healthy enough to contribute to the team’s March Madness run. The 6-foot-3 senior averaged 12.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for the Colonials in his first season on campus but missed the entire 2024-25 season due to a leg injury.
Williams started his collegiate career at LSU where he spent two seasons before transferring to Robert Morris prior to the 2023-24 season. The 6-foot-3 senior averaged 12.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for the Colonials in his first season on campus but missed the entire 2024-25 season due to a leg injury.
Williams, a Philadelphia native, was originally a 4-star recruit coming out of the nationally acclaimed Montverde Academy in Florida where he chose the Tigers over other schools such as Auburn, Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Pitt, Purdue, Ole Miss among others.
Despite not playing for the Colonials this season, the departure of Williams is significant as the futures of other key guards on the roster are still up in the air. Kam Woods was granted an additional year of eligibility but it is uncertain if he will choose to go back to Robert Morris for his sixth season.
Regardless, the transfer portal is just getting underway and it should not be a shock to see a few more players from the Colonials’ current roster make their way into it as they seek bigger opportunities.
