RMU’s Andy Toole Finalist for Mid-Major Coach of the Year

The coaching job this season by Andy Toole with the Robert Morris men’s basketball team has been acknowledged nationally.
Toole has been included as a finalist for the 2024-25 Hugh Durham Award, which is presented annually to the top Mid-Major head coach in college basketball.
Despite having very little expectations, Robert Morris has been one of the biggest surprise stories in college basketball by finishing first in the Horizon Conference. The 2025 Colonials have gone from winning 10 games last season to 23 games this season, which is their highest win total since 2013.
Robert Morris (23-8) is currently ranked No. 22 in the CollegeInsider Men’s Mid-Major Top 25 rankings.
The eventual winner of the Hugh Durham Award is determined by a 10-member voting committee, which consists of current and former head coaches, as well as two senior staff members of Collegeinsider.com. The winner will be announced in San Antonio, Texas, site of the 2025 Men’s Division 1 Basketball Championship.
The focus of Toole and his players now is trying to receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Horizon League Tournament.
RMU will open the tournament as the No. 1 seed and their first opponent will be Wright State tomorrow night. Tip-off from the UPMC Events Center will take place at 8 PM>
