Robert Morris Takeaways: The Cardiac Colonials

Robert Morris celebrates after beating Youngstown St. on Dec. 19, 2025 -- RMU Athletics

MOON TWP, Pa. — The Robert Morris Colonials… or should I say the Cardiac Colonials did it again on Wednesday as they rallied from another double-digit deficit to beat Youngstown St. by the score of 80-77 in overtime.

It seems like the Colonials are becoming used to playing games that are decided in the closing stages as each of the team’s first three Horizon League games have played out in similar fashions, in addition to three more of their non-conference games.

To recap the first 13 games of Robert Morris’ season, the Colonials rallied from a late 11-point deficit to beat Green Bay on a buzzer beater, they lost to Milwaukee on a last-second put back and now rallied from a 10-point first-half deficit to beat Youngstown St. in overtime.

That does not even count the thrilling overtime win at Drake, the heartbreaking overtime loss to Monmouth or the 20-point comeback win over Toledo that came down to the final seconds.

Robert Morris Sports Now took a deep dive into the latest exciting comeback win, some players that are starting to come into their own and more.
