Horizon League Anticipates Another Massive Step Forward for Robert Morris WBB

The Robert Morris women’s basketball program took a huge leap forward in head coach Chandler McCabe’s first year as leader of the team.
In fact, in McCabe’s first season leading the Colonials, the team nearly tripled its win total won five times the amount of league games compared to the season before.
After accepting the Robert Morris job, her first head coaching gig in Division-I basketball, McCabe led a experienced, yet transfer-filled, roster to a 15-16 overall record and a 10-10 league record.
With the success, the Colonials earned a trip to Indianapolis for the Horizon League Championships as the fourth-seed, which marked the first time that in program history that the team finished high enough in the league to earn a spot in Indy.

While the program saw immediate success under McCabe, she lost nearly all of her players either to graduation or the transfer portal which forced her to reload the roster for a second-straight season.
Despite that, the Colonials are projected to another massive step forward this season as the Horizon League announced its annual preseason rankings and awards on Thursday.
The league’s head coaches, SIDs and media members voted Robert Morris as the preseason runners up in the Horizon League, behind only first-place Green Bay.

The Colonials are represented by a pair of guards, senior Noa Givon and transfer Aislin Malcolm, on the All-League Second Team.
Givon started 30 games in her first season at Robert Morris and averaged 10.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
Malcolm, a former four-star recruit out of Chartiers Valley High School, transferred out of Pitt in the middle of last season after he role shrunk.
In the season prior, Malcolm started over 30 games for the Panthers and averaged 9.3 points per game while shooting a team-best 32% from three-point range.

Robert Morris will tipoff their season in less than a month on Nov. 3 in a road matchup against the University of Illinois-Chicago. Horizon League play will start for the Colonials on Dec. 7 when they travel to take on Northern Kentucky.
