Report: Robert Morris Moves on from Athletic Director Chris King

Shocking news from Robert Morris University as it’s being reported that athletic director Chris King is out.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel is reporting that “Athletic Director Chris King is out at Robert Morris”.

King was hired as athletic director at RMU back on May 9, 2019, coming from University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Prior to that, King spent time in the athletic departments at Alabama and Central Florida.

This is huge news for Robert Morris as the large majority of the university’s athletic departments are performing well and have been improving since the arrival of King.

Robert Morris Sports Now has reached out to Robert Morris University to confirm this report from Thamel but haven’t received a reply back.

King is a 1994 graduate of Robert Morris and was named the NACDA Athletic Director of the Year in 2023.
