Robert Morris announced on Monday that the school’s ticket allotment for the opening-round matchup against Alabama is sold out. While the school sold its share of the tickets, people that are still in need of a ticket can purchase one through the NCAA.

Friday’s Round of 64 game against the Crimson Tide will mark the first time that the Colonials have played in an NCAA Tournament game since the 2015 postseason. The Colonials clinched a spot in the tournament field in 2020 but the sports world would go onto shut down two days later which resulted in the team never getting the chance to play in it.

The Colonials earned an automatic qualifier to the tournament after going 26-8 throughout the season, winning the Horizon League regular-season title and winning the Horizon League Championship.

As for the Crimson Tide, they played in one of the toughest conferences in all of college hoops, the SEC. They finished in third place of the conference with an overall record of 25-8 and a conference record of 13-5.

The Colonials actually have played against the Crimson Tide once in the history of the program. The Crimson Tide defeated the Colonials by the score of 64-56 in Tuscaloosa during the 2014 season.

Many people including the sports books of Vegas predict this year’s meeting will not be as close. The Colonials opened as a 22.5-point underdog to the Crimson Tide which is among some of the biggest point margins for an underdog in the first round of the tournament.

Tipoff for the game between Robert Morris and Alabama is scheduled for 12:40 p.m. Friday at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland and it will be televised to a national audience on truTV.
