Across his two seasons with the Colonials, the 6-foot-7 forward primarily slotted in at the five logging 23.1 minutes, 8.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
During his freshman campaign, Walker immediately was thrusted into the starting lineup, starting in 30 of 31 contest for RMU.
While Walker’s numbers slightly increased from year one to year two, he did not take a bigger step in development as was expected.
Walker’s sophomore season came to a disappointing finish after scoring just 15 points in his final five games, which included two scoreless outings.
He was also removed from the bench by head coach Andy Toole during a home game against Oakland in Feb. after 12 minutes of work and subsequently did not dress against Cleveland State on Feb. 25.
Now in the portal, the Washington D.C. native will provide interested programs in an athletic power forward and smaller center option that works well in a pick and roll offense. He can also hit the three ball, knocking down 14 treys in his career and protect the rim with 376 career rebounds and 20 blocks.
Already an area of need for the Colonials, the frontcourt will need a lot of work during the offseason. With Markeese Hastings graduating and Walker in the portal, the Colonials are down to rising sophomore Alvaro Folgueiras and 6-foot-9 Trey James.
